My weight: 12 stones 0 pounds, 168 pounds, 76.20 kilograms. - Weight difference: No change.
Running conditions: good. Time of run: 10:00
Ran the Sussex Beacon 1/2 Marathon in Brighton with Steve. We arrive in Brighton with time to spare but then struggled to find appropriate parking. We ended up in an NCP car park. Leaving the car I had to visit the "gents" for the first time.

After putting our cloths into a plastic bag and leaving them at the baggage area we lined up with the other 4000 or so other people who were running that day. We started near the back and took nearly 2 minutes to cross the starting line. We were able to maintain a good steady pace from the start. The 1/2 Marathon route was going to be around the Town and along the sea front. After 5 miles I had to visit the public "gents toilets" on the see front along with a number of other runners. Unfortunately there was a queue and I lost nearly 2 minutes. Steve had continued runner however and I was not able to catch him up again. I finished in a time of 2 hours, 11 minutes, 5 seconds. Just outside my target time of 2 hours, 10 minutes. However if I take into account my unscheduled stop for the gents then I would be inside my target time. My race number was 3490 and Steve was 3494. Steve managed to complete the 1/2 marathon in 2 hours, 2 minutes, 05 seconds. Full details can be found at http://www.sussexbeacon.org.uk/halfmarathon.htm .

My weight: 11 stones 10 pounds, 164 pounds, 74.38 kilograms. - Weight difference: lost 4 pounds. Running conditions: good, but chill in the air. Time of run: 21:30

20 sit-ups and 10 press-ups completed before starting the run. After running the Sussex Beacon 1/2 Marathon in Brighton and returning home with both my little toes badly blistered I decided to visit Runners World running shop in Eastcote with Steve and purchased a new pair of running shoes.Completed the 3.5 mile route in 34 minutes, 15.37 seconds, slow but I have come back from the Wedding in Devon with a bad cold and cough so I took it easy. The previous weekend was not so good for me although I had attended a family Wedding on Saturday. Drove down to North Devon the day before and visited some old friends in Ilminster, Somerset on the way down, Steve and Sue, in their Doll and Toy shop http://www.amazingdollshousecompany.co.uk . Unfortunately by the time Saturday afternoon / evening wedding reception came I had become very ill and was unable to eat the food provided and had to leave and return to the holiday park where as a family we were staying. I have lost 4 pounds in weight but I think this is mainly due to my illness over the weekend and not my training.

"Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last ever‚". 1 Corinthians 9:25
