My half century is coming up on 11 December and I would like to ask anyone who knows me not to get me a card or present but to make a donation to the Pattaya Orphanage Trust. I have supported this charity since my brother, who lives in Thailand and works in many of the Far East countries, introduced me to them. I even had the pleasure of watching some of the children give a Christmas Carol concert when I was out there in 1998.

Blogging is not something I have really had the urge to do especially as I'm out 4 nights of the working week and weekends seem to be eaten up with rushing from pillar to post. However, I went to a seminar in the central Ealing Library about breaking into the freelance writers' market and I suppose it spurred me on to at least do this if nothing else. No reputation, money or deadline rests on this and it may be a way to hone writing skills.
Anyway, not sure how often I'll be back but all we can do is .....watch this space!

Happy New Year everyone. I realise it's February when you're reading this but the last edition being December/January would have meant me wishing you the above when I was writing at the beginning of November, which didn't seem appropriate then.
As I write this we have just had the first Sunday morning service of the new year and Denzil Jarvis helped us to look at how God is making a new creation of us, putting a new song in our mouths, a new desire in our hearts, a new strength in our minds.
