The famous preacher Dr. Tony Campolo tells the story of a little preaching competition that he had with his pastor during services at the church where he attends. Dr. Campolo tells how he preached the perfect sermon, perfect in every way. He had taken the congregation to the heights of glory. And as he sat down beside his pastor, Dr. Campolo patted him on the knee and simply said, "Top that." The older black pastor looked at him and said, "Boy, watch the master."

In January 2000, leaders in Charlotte, North Carolina, invited their favorite son, Billy Graham, to a luncheon in his honour. Billy initially hesitated to accept the invitation because he struggles with Parkinson's disease. But the Charlotte leaders said, "We don't expect a major address. Just come and let us honour you." So he agreed.
After wonderful things were said about him, Dr. Graham stepped to the rostrum, looked at the crowd, and said, I'm reminded today of Albert Einstein, the great physicist who this month has been honoured by Time magazine as the Man of the Century.

Dear Father, Hospitable King,
Fill me with brotherly love. Make me a generous provider of hospitality to strangers. Let angels find provision under my roof, even when I don't know who they really are.

God is called by different names in different languages. Here is a very large mural that our church family made - it hangs at the front of the worship area in the church building. Can you spot God's name in sign language?

Though God can't be described with just words, this is as close as you can get this side of Heaven. This is an amazing sermon piece, preached they way it should be.

ABOUT CHRISTIANITY
Sometimes it's confusing to know what real Christians believe. Here are some suggested ways to get to the facts:
-
attend one of the many national/international Alpha Courses or other courses that investigate Christianity—explore the Bible, especially the the four gospels—the Bible was inspired by God so it's our best reference book
-
hear about the good news and teachings of Jesus from a friend or in any bible-believing Christian church
-
Ask God your questions directly. He's here now and He loves you so He will answer in a way that you can understand
-
At Greenford Baptist Church we try not to be too religious—we try to practise Non-Religious Biblical Christianity.
