 My Father's Business

Welcome to My Father's Business page at myfathersbusiness.org.uk. Firstly this is not a business in the commercial sense, and rest assured we are not extremely religious - see Non-Religious Biblical Christianity. Really, it's all about God's business. We are a mixture of ordinary people from many different cultures and backgrounds and have something unique to share with you. Click the MFB logo to the left, the M.G.B. menu item above or here to see the My Father's Business home page.

We believe God is a perfect Father who can answer all our prayers. Answered prayer is a large part of My Father’s Business. Love is a major part of My Father’s Business as well. God would love you to be closer to Him than your very best friend, closer than a dearly loved mother or father.

We has created specially for you a resource web page called JesusInside (click it to go there). This contains links to many multimedia websites where you can watch and listen some life improving presentations. Investigate what we have called My Father's Business and discover what it is like to have Jesus on the inside of you.

The famous preacher Dr. Tony Campolo tells the story of a little preaching competition that he had with his pastor during services at the church where he attends. Dr. Campolo tells how he preached the perfect sermon, perfect in every way. He had taken the congregation to the heights of glory. And as he sat down beside his pastor, Dr. Campolo patted him on the knee and simply said, "Top that." The older black pastor looked at him and said, "Boy, watch the master."

In January 2000, leaders in Charlotte, North Carolina, invited their favorite son, Billy Graham, to a luncheon in his honour. Billy initially hesitated to accept the invitation because he struggles with Parkinson's disease. But the Charlotte leaders said, "We don't expect a major address. Just come and let us honour you." So he agreed.

After wonderful things were said about him, Dr. Graham stepped to the rostrum, looked at the crowd, and said, I'm reminded today of Albert Einstein, the great physicist who this month has been honoured by Time magazine as the Man of the Century.

Dear Father, Hospitable King,

Fill me with brotherly love. Make me a generous provider of hospitality to strangers. Let angels find provision under my roof, even when I don't know who they really are.

Though God can't be described with just words, this is as close as you can get this side of Heaven. This is an amazing sermon piece, preached they way it should be.

ABOUT CHRISTIANITY

Sometimes it's confusing to know what real Christians believe. Here are some suggested ways to get to the facts:

  • attend one of the many national/international Alpha Courses or other courses that investigate Christianity—explore the Bible, especially the the four gospels—the Bible was inspired by God so it's our best reference book

  • hear about the good news and teachings of Jesus from a friend or in any bible-believing Christian church

  • Ask God your questions directly. He's here now and He loves you so He will answer in a way that you can understand

  • At Greenford Baptist Church we try not to be too religious—we try to practise Non-Religious Biblical Christianity.
