Introduction

  • The resurrection of Jesus sits at the very centre of our Christian faith
  • There is more historical evidence for it than for the existence of Julius Caesar

Peace Instead of Fear (v 19—23)

  • The doors were locked because of fear …
  • … yet Jesus stood among them
  • “Peace”; “unqualified well-being” (Carson)
  • We are sent by Jesus to share the Good News …
  • … of new creation and a fresh start with God

Belief Instead of Unbelief (v 24—31)

  • We do not need physical evidence we can receive Jesus into our lives by faith …
  • … and share His life Open or Locked?

What is your response this morning?

  • Receive His life for the first time
  • Receive His peace into an area of your life
  • To say YES to joining with Him through baptism
