Introduction

• Peter wrote this letter to encourage believers so that they would stand firm in their faith.   

Live in Harmony (v 8-12)

• We share the same heavenly Father

• We should change what WE want to meet the needs of the church family

• Compassion involves the real sharing of one another’s hurt

• Humility is about us recognising our dependence on God

Live in Harmony (v 8-12)

• We should get even by blessing those who insult us

Suffering (v 13-17)

• As we follow in Jesus’ footsteps suffering should not come as a surprise

• Instead of fear of those who oppose us our minds should be filled with God Application

• What have we learnt this morning?

• Harmony should be a hallmark of any Christian community

• We get our own back by blessing  Suffering is part of the Christian life

• We should all be able to explain the hope that we have
