A minuscule part of a vast and leafy tree
It falls to earth where none can see
Hidden from sight, hidden from thought
But with time and life great things are wrought.

Whilst we run and laugh and cry and sing
We spare no thought for the tiny thing
That God has planted on the floor-
Has planted and will not ignore.

In the quiet He speaks,"Live and be
The greatest and mightiest, oh tiny seed
And so, it grows, obediently
Until one day, quite wondrously:

The king of trees is standing tall
Risen despite the storms and squalls
Boughs of iron giving shade
The strongest of all the Lord has made.

In obedience Lord, help us to grow
To live and love and breathe and glow
Your presence out for all to see
Your spirit within us glorious be.
