What do you think Lord of the world you've made?
What do you think, Lord of the devastation, death and ruin we've made of your world?
We see glimpses, Lord

  • of physical, spiritual, mental pain
  • of hate, revenge, of mindless violence.

What do you think Lord?
You who see it all, feel it all
How do You bear it?
How do you hold back judgement?

Yet You do, Lord
You still breathe love upon us
While the Christ on the cross shows us what we have done to you.
You still give us time
You hold back your hand
While your spirit jolts and disturbs,
Cradles and comforts.
How long, Lord?
How long can You bear to wait?

Wait for us Lord,
Make us part of your saving plans, your loving rescue.
Make us - builders, not destroyers,

  • planters, not wreckers,
  • loving servants, not lords.

And may your kingdom come.
