Text Notes

Introduction

  • The book of Exodus, and the events narrated in it, is probably the most significant part of the OT

  • Some parts of the story are well known but many Christians do not understand the significance of the events for themselves today

Bitter made Sweet (15:22-27)

  • Bitter disappointments are a normal part of life

  • It is how we respond in the bitter places, when life does not make sense, that reveals our heart

Daily Bread (16:1-36)

  • A crisis of faith in response to a physical need

  • God’s response was to assure them that He would provide for their daily needs

Application

  • What have we learnt this morning?

  • Faith cannot be known to be true until it has been tested

  • God provides for us every day
