Religion is satisfied for you
Both to look and to act just like Me.
Thats not what I intended for you
And that is not the way it should be.
From the start I just wanted people
Who would yield to Me, trust and love Me.
Not church with a towering steeple,
But those through whom all the world would see.
My compassion, love, and My desire
Manifest in all those I call friend
Those Ive cleansed with My deep cleansing fire
Who might surely the pious offend.
For Ive called the meek and the lowly,
Those My church would not call religious.
Not only the ones youd call holy,
I might even call the prestigious.
Dont you know that your ways are not Mine?
On this earth just ahead in harsh days,
Youll be surprised with whom I will dine
